A horse and two Chihuahuas walk into a bar…

It could sound like a pretty good joke, right? When I got the call to photograph Rachael, her horse and her two Chihuahuas my mind instantly conjured up some very odd circus like imagery. I really had no idea what was in store. I headed out to Wimberley and when I arrived I was greeted by the cutest little Chihuahua named Vinnie. Off in the distance, I saw Vinnie’s mom with Oliver the horse and upon close inspection Bella (the other Chihuahua) was trailing close behind. I was amazed by how comfortable Oliver was around Vinnie and Bella. They would follow their mom everywhere and if mom was on Oliver then Bella and Vinnie were right there following along by Oliver’s feet. It was just an awesome shoot.

PS - I hope everyone had a great new years eve and are looking forward to an awesome new year… I know I am!!

Jill - these are soo good. you get better and better.

Grace - Gawd these are all too good. I love the photo of the 2 teeeeeeny dogs walking next to the gigantic horse. Wow.

Furry goodness

Say “hello” to Abby (Old English Sheepdog with the sparkly tag) and Morty (Goldendoodle) -  the furry deluxe duo! These two cuties were photographed for a Christmas gift to their dad. I had the best time with them and I love the images from their session.

Oscar - I "LOVE" these shots of the Goldendoodle with his mate Abbey, MAGNIFICENT work! Great holiday shots as well. Cheers!

Ella and Tuna wish you a very happy holiday!

I have to say that I was dying with laughter when I put these two images together. This really sums up the personalities of Ella and Tuna quite well. Ella is happy go lucky and vibrant whereas Tuna is constantly annoyed by everyone and melancholy. Hope everyone can have a happy holiday even with the loved ones that are complete opposites of you and may drive you crazy (like Tuna does to Ella).

A color explosion!

It’s hard to imagine that I used to only shoot black and white. I mean I flat out refused to shoot color back in the day. I have pulled a full 360 on myself and I am loving me some color 24/7. This colorful shoot was with the lovely Mieke and her equally lovely owner, Jessi. We had an awesome time with little Mieke and laughed all day at her crazy kitty antics.

Jill Beninato - These are my new favorite shots of yours...the color is wonderful, but I also love that they are cat photos. I so wish I had more cat clients....

Erica - Oh, gorgeous kitty with such wonderful colors- I love! These are beautiful!

Tamandra - Awww! She looks a bit like my kiddy! I crack up at the "owl face", with the ears back. Love her little heart charm! Sooo cool, love colors too!

Jill - I love color!

claire - LOVE this post! great work!!

Jamie - yay color! yay color! yay color! I am positively in love with these images Nichole! You are totally onto something here girl.

Three lovely little ladies

I had the absolute best time photographing these little beauties. All of these girls had so much life and spirit in them. I could have hung out with them all day. They were so ridiculously photogenic and charming…I just couldn’t stand it. Charlie, I think you have some new angels on the way.

Look at those eyes!

Daddy’s girl…

They had these steel wash tubs laying around and the girls made at least five different games out of them. Ah, to be young…

I like to call this next one, “Baby’s day out.”

Mmmm - a favorite for sure!

How cute are they…I mean really?

Jamie - those last two shots are priceless- some of the best kid photos I've ever seen. Talk about capturing expressiveness and personality! you nailed it!

Jill Beninato - These are amazing...I know the parents are thrilled...love your new blog colors/format!

nicole - Thanks everyone for the awesome comments! Grace - you rock!!

Grace - Damn you're good.

Jill - These are so beautiful! nice work!

Erica - These are just magnificent! The square one where you managed to capture each girl's character in one shot is sheer talent. I would hang that in my house...and I don't even know them! hee hee!

Tamandra - I just love your eye. Capturing those revealing moments. Beautiful!

Amelia - The second photo,...WOW!!! You do amazing work.

Pekas - These photos are breathtakingly amazing!!! It's very hard for me to pick a favorite, they are all amazing! You are extremely talented, keep up the wonderful work.

BBQ Road Trip

Hmm - what is a BBQ Road Trip? A name of a band? A new movie? Maybe the title of a really cool book? Bingo! I had the pleasure of working with the very talented Mike and Gyvel Witzel on the Barbecue Road Trip book last year. I helped shoot all of the famous Central Texas BBQ joints and of course do a little taste testing here and there. After I got over the eye searing, camera melting heat of the pits it was all business. This book is an awesome little jaunt through “America’s Great Barbecue Regions” and it has some yummy recipes and totally intriguing stories.

Jill Beninato - This sooo cool. I would have eaten my way through every one of those places...Fantastic photos...makes me want to buy the book!

nicole - Good question! I would definitely have to say Kreuz Market in Lockhart, Texas: http://www.kreuzmarket.com Not only was their BBQ amazing but the place was awesome and the people working their were just too cool. The pictures of their place are featured in the last set of images. That guy on the right hand side of the page, with the huge side burns, could have easily been featured in his own book.

Mary Marantz - oh that's awesome! so which place was your favorite?

nicole - Grace - I have a feeling that you will be published in no time...I can't wait to see your book!

TEX - I'ma calling a TRIFECTA right hur. Three things I couldn't hold dearer 1) man's best friend, 2)good family times, and 3)!!! BBQ!!! Whoowho I mean to tell ya!!!

Grace - This is so cool!!! I love all your photos. Congrats on being published Nicole.

Hey - Look at me!

The most rewarding charitable work I perform is photographing the adoptable dogs at the Central Texas SPCA. All of these little guys and gals deserve every opportunity to be adopted and I don’t want anyone to overlook a possible pet just because they don’t look sweet, friendly or loving. I get so warm and fuzzy inside when I hear that my photos helped draw in visitors to the shelter. Some of my favorite photos from this year are posted below.

Jamie - Ok, the writing of the name on the sidewalk is the cutest thing ever. How can you not want to take each and every one of these guys home with you? I don't know if I could do it.

Mia - Beautiful shots as always. Keep up the fantastic work.

Wendy - Spectacular shots! Would like to give them all a home. Top one is my fav ;)

Erica - I just LOVE these! That terrier mix second down on the right just makes me squeal and then cry. Who wouldn't want these guys? Such gorgeous shots of those cattle mixes too!

Tamandra - OK, I'm ending my blurry eyed blog viewing with these. What a bunch of adorable characters! You know how bad I want to kiss that little baby kitten-puss face? Sweet! I love shots of dogs with closed eyes, in a kind of reverie.

Jill - Beautiful work Nicole!

Cara - Fantastic shots! Thanks for your work-if only everyone used their gifts to help others!

Jill Beninato - These are all amazing....what a huge difference it makes in the adoption rate when you can show photos like these...

Who’s that cover kitty?

Why it’s Abby - the beautiful Birman cat I photographed earlier this year. One of my Abby images graces this month’s Austin Pets Directory. This is an awesome publication for pet lovers and they are highly involved in promoting animal welfare.

Jaclyn Moore - Nicole, you are amazing!

Grace - Nicole this is so awesome! Congratulations!

Bingo’s outnumbered…

Bingo is an adorable Yorkie who shares his home with not one, not two, not three… but four cats. I knew photographing four cats and a dog would be a challenge, but we all took it in stride and had a great time.

First up is Lulu. She was the main catalyst for the session. Lulu’s mom knew that Lulu’s dad loved her very much and that he would love some Lulu images for their Anniversary.

Marmelade, on the left, is in this shot with Lulu. Marmelade is an orange delight.

Next up is Gus, the sleek cutie with the softest white fur.

Oh and Patrick is the sweet pea of the bunch.

Last but certainly not least is Bingo. This little guy had his feline sisters and brothers in check.

nicole - Thank you for all the awesome comments.

Mia - Bingo on the sofa arm is a classic shot. Love it.

Social Networking for Pets - cant compare them, They all are the best. cute.

nick - Always a challenge with multi animal households but looks like it was a fun session :D

Tracy - These are gorgeous! Love Bingo! Our yorkie keeps the cat (and the other dogs too but mostly the cat) in check as well! : )

Jill - These are just beautiful! I LOVE the first one!

Jill Beninato - All of these are beautiful Nicole...I love the dog bone tag Bingo is wearing....

Grace - Nicole these are amazing. My favorite is the one of Patrick. And the last one :)

Erica - I adore Lulu's delectable little nose and Gus' wonderful green eyes. Patrick is to die for, Marmelade is scrumptious and the way you highlight Bingo's haircut- hee hee!- with the sofa lines is lovely! You captured them all beautifully.

Bob the Boxer

Say, “hello” to Bob the Boxer. The name may be short and sweet but Bob is big on personality. He’s got a grin that just won’t quit and enough energy to power a small town. I had a great time with Bob and I hope he finally got some rest after all the excitement from our session. He was so super excited about the lady with treats and toys that he could barely stand it.

Bob is very loved, especially by his Dad.

Look at that face!

Jill - I love the post processing here Nicole. I haven't been to your blog in a while!

Grace - You have to have a heart of stone to resist a boxer named Bob. He's so freaking cute!

jamie - oh my gosh, the shot in the driveway of bob with the kitchen towel is advertisement-worthy! a shot of a lifetime! LOVE the processing on that one. what did you do? love all of them, fantastic work as always nicole. :-)

nicole - Yes, how can you resist a Boxer named Bob?

Mark - That first shot just screams Boxerness. How can you not love a boxer named Bob?

teresa - yup, this may just certify how much i really want a boxer!! :)

Bethany Hammonds - What a handsome boy! I can't wait to see all of the proofs. :)

Mia - Great series. Bob looks fabulous against the brown background and on the sofa.

Erica - Ah, I love Bob the Boxer!! His face, his eyes...I'm smitten :-) These are wonderful, especially the ones with Dad.
